Janis Joplin elevated to popularity in the 1960’s as the lead performer from the Big Brother & the Holding Company group of musicians. The lady later proceeded to become a solo performer as well as song author. It was no secret to any who knew her that she had an addiction to alcohol and drugs.
On October 3, 1970 soon after making a recording she proceeded to go for some drinks with one of the band members then went back to her room where she was discovered in the morning lifeless of an evident substance over dose. The autopsy to come would eventually reveal that the narcotics she attained the night before, from a trusted source, was so pure that it ended up being 8 times the strength that she had commonly taken, causing her system to shut down. The batch of strong drugs that she bought that awful evening had also been presented to many others, 8 of which experienced their death at the same time.
